One of my favorite Jalopnik posts ever was this video of a GT-R being driven very poorly on track. I was hoping to share a link to this with a friend. Now, the embedded video in the post seems to be broken. Has anyone seen somewhere else where I can find the original video?

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

EDIT: Found it!

My god.

I can almost guarantee you this happened in an intermediate group.

Novice level is filled with people to scared to hurt their babies or smart intermediate drivers who do not want to deal with the “boy racers”, but are not good enough to drive expert/experienced.

Intermediate is the scar y level filled with people who think they can drive better than they can. Like this video. Plenty know how to drive on track, but I would estimate like 25% should never have left Novice and are a danger to other drivers .

Expert/Experienced, know what they are doing.

This video is unavailable.

That reminds me, I’ve been meaning to ask: what does this mean? I could have sworn I’d seen YouTube errors specifically stating “this video has been removed” or “this video is private”. And of course the “watch on YouTube” errors because somebody apparently hates embeds. So what’s this general “unavailable” message? Anybody know?

I’ ve never met a good GTR driver at the track. They are far slower than they have any right to be and are often dangerous to be around.

Here’s one parking it at the end of the 1km straight at Circuit of the Americas in Austin:

Luckily I was conservative with my braking point otherwise I’d have hit him in my 178whp BRZ.

Woulda been a track record, too, if it wasn’t for that #$*@$& kebab.

Dear Lord. He should have been counseled thoroughly after the 1st lap, then ejected after the 2nd.

Unless of course I saw what was going on inside the car. In that case it would be an immediate “Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Oh, and you’re banned from ever driving with us again. k bye.”

I’d say that guy in the mustang was a far worse offender.

Dashcam owner claimed the video or something because of humiliation and  it’s been entirely removed from history?

At least his pass was safe, t he Mustang slowed me down a little but I was pushing him (that’s what you get when you have such a big wing). It was my first time at COTA and aside from the GTR everyone was very considerate and well behaved.

How serendipitous... I was just thinking about this vid the other day. "Reset microwave" shit is just hilarious.

I saw a GT-R at autocross once. The driver was a typical “GT-R noob.” He had the nearly worst lap times of anyone out there that day, and that was before you add in the extra-time- penalties for mowing down cones by the dozen.

When I lived in OKC the OK SCCA ran at a typical autox lot but the other clubs (BMWCCA and PCA) ran at the sheriff’s training center which was like a really narrow and super sketchy short track attached to a skid pad. The long sweepers and straightaways gave horsepower cars a huge advantage since the course was too narrow for chicanes or slaloms on the two 1/4 mile straights.

I convinced the FTD GTR at the PCA event to come to the SCCA event the next weekend, where he was dfl and left at lunch never to return (they ran a double entry event where you ran both mornings and afternoons).
